Alastair Onglingswan, President, COO and Co-Founder
Alastair Onglingswan serves as our President and COO. From December
1997 to June 2000, Mr. Onglingswan practiced law as a corporate
attorney at Brown & Wood LLP. In April 1993, Mr. Onglingswan
co-founded Arcon, Inc., a corporation utilizing computer neural
networks to provide consulting services to the healthcare industry.
Mr. Onglingswan served as Arcon's Operations Director and General
Counsel from April 1993 until February 1996. From September 1995
to November 1997, Mr. Onglingswan practiced law at Wilson, Elser,
Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, New York, NY. Mr. Onglingswan received
a B.A. from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and a J.D.
from Fordham Law School.
Evan J. Kaufman, Co-Founder
Evan J. Kaufman served as our Chairman and CEO from March 2000 until October 2001.
From November 1999 to April 2000, Mr. Kaufman worked at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and,
from September 1996 to October 1999, was employed by Prudential Securities, Inc.
At both of these firms, Mr. Kaufman served as a Financial Advisor
where he focused on technology and Internet companies. From September
1995 to August 1996, Mr. Kaufman practiced law at Wilson, Elser,
Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker in New York, NY. Mr. Kaufman received
a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Fordham Law
School.
Clive G. Cook, Strategic Advisor
Clive Cook has extensive experience in technology based businesses,
startup management and venture financing. Currently, Mr. Cook is
founder and principal of South Beach Venture Partners LLC, an early
stage technology venture firm. From October 1998 until October 1999,
he was a co-founder and COO of Patagon.com, which received two rounds
of VC financing before ultimately being sold for $750 million. His
prior experience is as senior strategy consultant at Mercer Management
Consulting and as a senior operating manager for different high
tech companies including Nortel, Acterna Corp. and Visible Decisions
Inc., an enterprise software venture focusing on the information
management market. Mr. Cook holds a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Calgary, a Masters Degree in Computer and
Systems Engineering and MBA from the University of Western Ontario,
Canada.
C. Lanier Benkard, Board Advisor
Since 1998, Lanier Benkard has been an Assistant Professor of Economics
at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business where he
has taught Applied Econometrics, Economic Research and Data and
Decisions. From 1991 to 1993, he served as an Associate Economist
at Wefa Inc. Mr. Benkard is a Member of the American Economic Association
and the Econometrics Society and has published in numerous publications.
Mr. Benkard received a B.S. and a M.A. from the University of Toronto.
He received a M.Phil. and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
Lisa Arone, Board Advisor
Since February 1999, Lisa Arone has been a management consultant
at the Boston Consulting Group in San Francisco, where she advises
companies on their Internet and e-commerce strategies. Ms. Arone
works with both start-up ventures and large Fortune 500 incumbents
building B2B and B2C e-commerce capabilities. Ms. Arone was previously
an associate in Strategy and in Risk Management at Bankers Trust.
Ms. Arone received a B.A. from Trinity College at the University
of Toronto and a M.A. in Political Science from the University of
California, Los Angeles.
